DelaeMD App Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the DelaeMD website, the Healthspan Engine at engine.delaemd.com (the "Site"), and the DelaeMD mobile application (the "App") handle information. The Site and App are published by Delae MD, a California professional corporation ("Delae MD," "we," "us"). The Site and App are educational and informational tools. They are separate from the clinical telehealth services offered by Delae MD. This policy covers both the Site and the App; some features, such as the AI assistant, are available only on the Site. Use of Delae MD's telehealth or medical services is governed by a separate privacy policy and notice.

1. Our Privacy Approach

The App is designed to keep your health-related inputs on your device. We do not require you to create an account to use the App, and we do not sell your information.

2. Information the App Handles

Health and lifestyle inputs (stored on your device): Any biometric values, lifestyle details, or other health-related information you enter to calculate your risk estimates are stored locally on your device. This information is used to perform calculations on your device and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers, except when you choose to use the AI assistant (see Section 3), in which case your entered health metrics are sent to Microsoft Azure OpenAI to generate a response.

Survey responses: If you choose to answer optional in-app surveys, your responses are sent to our service provider (Supabase) to help us understand how the App is used and improve it. We ask you not to include identifying personal information in survey responses.

Feedback and optional contact information: If you choose to submit feedback, your message — and an email address only if you choose to provide one — is sent through our service provider (Web3Forms) so we can read and, if you've left an email, respond to your feedback. Providing an email is optional; if you leave it blank, your feedback is submitted without it.

We do not require any of this information to use the core calculator. Standard technical metadata (such as IP address, device type, and timestamps) is processed automatically by our service providers in the course of routing and securing network requests; we do not use this metadata to identify you or for advertising.

3. AI Assistant (delae AI)

The Healthspan Engine website includes an optional AI assistant that can answer questions about your results and general health science. The AI assistant is not included in the DelaeMD mobile application.

What is sent. When you send a message to the assistant, your message and the health information you have entered — your age, sex, height, weight, and the biometric values you have entered — are transmitted to Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, which generates the response. Your name, email address, and other directly identifying information are not included; the assistant receives only your message and your entered health metrics.

Retention. Microsoft may retain the content of these requests for a limited period (up to 30 days) for abuse monitoring and safety purposes, under the Azure OpenAI Service terms. Microsoft does not use this content to train its models. We maintain a Business Associate Agreement with Microsoft.

What it does not do. The assistant provides educational and informational content only. It does not diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, order tests, or provide medical treatment recommendations.

Your choice. Use of the AI assistant is entirely optional. If you do not use it, your health information is not transmitted to Microsoft.

4. How We Use Information

We use the limited information above to: operate the App's features; understand and improve how the App is used; and respond to feedback you send us. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

5. Service Providers

We use the following third-party service providers to operate the App:

Supabase — processes optional survey responses.
Web3Forms — processes feedback submissions and any optional email you provide.
Microsoft (Azure OpenAI Service) — processes messages and entered health metrics sent to the optional AI assistant.

These providers process information only to perform services for us.

6. Data Retention

Health-related inputs remain on your device until you delete them or remove the App. Survey responses and feedback are retained only as long as needed for the purposes described above.

7. Your Choices

Health-related inputs stay on your device unless you choose to use the AI assistant, so you control them directly and can clear them at any time. Using the AI assistant, submitting surveys, and sending feedback are all optional.

8. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including rights to know, delete, and correct certain personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. 9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 and is rated for users 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the Effective Date above.
